Pixel 3a Launch Expected on May 7 at the Google I/O Keynote

Reports have surfaced suggesting that the Pixel 3a phones might be joining T-Mobile as well, in addition to Verizon. The Pixel 3a should hit 5.6 inches while the bigger one will sport a 6-inch screen.

There have been no shortage of Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL leaks of late. Google itself has confirmed that there will be some Pixel-related news on 7th May, which just so happens to be the day if the I/O keynote.

With Google's Pixel line focusing on Camera quality as one of it's cornerstone features could the Pixel 3a and 3a XL be the first affordable phones with top tier cameras?

Alongside teasing the Pixel 3a launch, Google has released a commercial that reimagines the Marvel Cinematic Universe to show what all the Pixel 3 can do to help the New Yorkers who have been attacked by the villains of Marvel's Avengers series.

Google got in bed with Verizon to launch the Pixel lineup in 2016, and Big Red has been Google's exclusive carrier partner ever since.

As smartphone prices continue to climb, with the likes of Samsung and Apple offering phones that cost over $1,000, competing with mid-tier smartphone vendors (and perhaps learning more about that market as a vendor), the move makes a lot of sense for Google. Google Pixel 3a XL also comes with 4GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. Remember, it's thought the new Pixel 3a lineup will feature a new purple-ish colour option at launch, so the page could be hinting at that.

Before the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL are introduced later this year, the tech giant has a new pair to offer.

Google engineers trained Photobooth to recognize five types of facial expressions, which are "smiles, tongue-out, kissy/duck face, puffy-cheeks and surprise", Google says in a blog post. The ad will likely air in the run-up to the film premiering on April 26.
