Who's hearing from House Democrats: Trump's family, business

The committee asked McGahn for documents related to any discussion involving Trump regarding the possibility of firing Mueller around June of 2017 "or any conversation in which President Trump stated, in words or substance, that he wanted the Mueller investigation shut down, restrained or otherwise limited in or around December 2017".

In response to questions about the inquiry, Trump told reporters on Monday that he will cooperate with the Committee's requests but called the move a "hoax". There are also people connected to Russian interference in the 2016 campaign, including participants in a meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer before the election.

The panel expects some people to produce right away, and others may eventually face subpoenas, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

We know that these federal and state enforcement agencies are investigating the Trump Organization, the Trump Campaign, the Trump Transition, the Trump Inauguration Committee, the Trump Foundation, and the Trump Presidency for assorted criminal conduct. Calling Congress "incompetent", Eric Trump told Fox News Radio "we're going to fight the hell out of it". But that may not be the full story.

■ The state of Maryland and the District of Columbia are suing Trump, alleging that he profited off his Washington hotel while president in violation of the Constitution. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly. "But this is a personal issue, and why would most people not go to the American public about this?"

Lanny Davis, a Cohen representative, did not immediately return a request for comment.

McCarthy argued that if reimbursing Cohen for payments meant to avoid embarrassing news during the campaign was a violation of campaign finance laws, then Cohen, as Trump's lawyer, should have informed the president at the time. But lawmakers have requested information about talks on possible pardons for Cohen and other defendants close to the president who have become entangled in Mueller's investigation.

COBB, guesting on the latest episode of the podcast, gave an extensive interview in which he also said that he continues to believe that the Special Counsel's report will not find President TRUMP in serious trouble and that the primary findings of the investigation have already been revealed through the "speaking indictments" filed in court against 34 defendants, including PAUL MANAFORT. While Nadler said over the weekend "Impeachment's a long way down the road", he also said "it's very clear" to him that Trump committed obstruction of justice. "There were several changes that were made including how we were going to handle that message, which was - the message of course being - the length of time that the Trump Tower Moscow project stayed and remained alive".

Now that Democrats hold a majority in the House, the new probe is a sign that Trump's legal and political peril is nowhere near over, even as the special counsel's Russian Federation investigation winds down.

Trump has denied reports of the relationship and claimed he had no knowledge of payoffs to Daniels or another woman, Karen McDougal.

Cohen said in the Oversight testimony that Trump directed him to arrange the hush-money payment to Daniels.

Before Cohen testified at his public hearing, BuzzFeed reported that Cohen said he was directed to lie to Congress by Trump himself.

He added: "You know, the attractive thing?"
