‘Millions’ attend live concert in video game Fortnite

The posters note the event will fall on February 2 at 11 am PT (February 3 at 6 am AEST) and will be part of a showtime challenge. An NPC of Marshmello is also expected to appear on the stage to play the tracks.

Fortnite is a video game, a meme machine, an occasional subject of controversy, and now. a concert venue. If the 10 million stat is completely accurate, well then it's a new record set by the masked DJ!

To make it easier, Epic Games will disable all other modes so that you can't jump into something else by mistake.

Of course, it's not exactly fair to compare an online event such as 'Mello's Pleasant Park set with real-world shows, where you have to fit actual people into real space, but let's just consider it for a moment. A customized Marshmello skin is now available to players across the world for $15 or 1500 V-bucks. Staging a free concert is a new twist in the game's life, though.

Marshmello confirmed that the event was not pre-recorded, and was broadcast live.

"That was all live, man!"

Marshmello uploaded the whole concert to his YouTube channel which you can watch below.

Taking to Twitter earlier today, he added that the videos from fans and players on social media were "amazing", so we've rounded up a few for you below. Not only that, but the Fortnite Marshmello show is a great milestone for how far this weird little spinoff has come since it exploded onto the scene a couple years ago.
