Resident Evil 2 Launch Trailer Looks Awesome Ahead of Massively Anticipated Release

"Resident Evil 2 is, quite simply, one of the best remakes of all-time".

Capcom announced during a Resident Evil 2 launch stream in Japan today that it will be releasing retro-themed costumes for both Leon and Claire. The first volume will include two new playable characters, namely the mayor's daughter Katherine and a USS member called Robert Kendo, and there will also be at least one new enemy type that doesn't appear in the main game. It will also feature randomised elements and an in-game shop for players to visit and stock up on items to fight back the undead.

Terrifyingly realistic visuals - Built on Capcom's proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 delivers breathtakingly photorealistic visuals in 4K whilst stunning lighting creates an up-close, intense and atmospheric experience as players roam the corridors of the Raccoon City Police Department (RPD). There is not yet a price attached. I'd be interested to know how many unique individuals played the demo, but seeing as how many players made duplicate accounts to bypass the demo's one-shot rule, we'll probably never know. Does the DLC make you excited, or leave you wanting?

Kadoi and Hirabayashi's comments are, sadly, far from official confirmation of the existence, let alone development, of any DLC, and the pair advised fans to keep an eye on Capcom's official social channels for any more news.

Resident Evil 2 releases on January 25 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, so make sure to check out the available pre-order bonuses while there's still time.
