Chinese Super League Giants Set Sights On Mesut Ozil

The German was left out of the matchday squad entirely for Saturday's 1-0 defeat to West Ham United, with Emery intimating after the match that he did not deserve to play.

Gunners boss Unai Emery has mentioned the need to bring new faces at the club, and had earmarked Suarez as a potential signing very early on, but was unable to figure a deal out with the Catalans up until now.

"It's not me who decides the team, making the starting XI, but obviously every single player wants to play every single game", Giroud told ESPN FC.

However, the Gunners form has slumped of late, having won just one of their last four Premier League matches. Now he is training consistently.

"Chelsea are set to offer Petr Cech a role at the club when he calls time on his playing career this summer - but Arsenal should be looking to keep him, too", he said. "The most important thing for me is how he can help us and how every player can help us with their consistency".

Ozil has reportedly been working harder than ever away from the football pitch by doing extra sessions to prove to Emery that he's fully committed to Arsenal. This is not always easy. "I'm thinking about how he can help us this year with good performances".

"Nobody knows whether Ozil, who has not played since Boxing Day, will even say "hello" or "good morning" anymore", wrote Ashton.

It seems no one is buying the 30-year-old's apparent efforts to get back into the team, which could give him no choice but to leave in the January transfer window.

The Chinese Super League side are willing to offer €10m per season in order to try and tempt Ozil to make the switch to Shanghai.
