Spanish champions Barcelona have offered Chelsea a part swap deal involving cash and winger Malcom in return for Willian, according to the Telegraph. However, considering the current circumstances, it would have been wise if Chelsea had considered the offer.
The Toffees clearly have a good working relationship with Barca, having brought Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes in from the Nou Camp over the summer and they should take full advantage of that with Malcom.
Willian saw a proposed move to the Nou Camp fall through a year ago while Malcom was a £38m buy from Bordeaux.
Barca have reportedly made a renewed approach, with Malcom thrown into the deal, which Chelsea are also thought to have refused.
Chelsea have scored the least goals (36) out of the top six and it's Willian's contribution that's most concerning.
The Brazil global is thought to be on the Camp Nou club's radar, with Chelsea said to have rejected a Barca offer of Malcom plus cash for his services.
Willian is in his 30's and has not been in the best of form under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
The deal would see Malcom go the other way. Moreover, Willian has just 18 months left on his contract. He already has a €38m transfer fee around him and he would have been a suitable replacement for the ageing and under-performing Blues winger.
The Chelsea boss then explained how Willian can further up his displays on the pitch.
"My future? It's here at Chelsea", he said.
