Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are officially married

Miley Cyrus has confirmed her marriage to the actor Liam Hemsworth after reports emerged they had tied the knot before Christmas.

One picture of them sharing a smooch attracted over 5.6Million likes with Miley telling fans: "this is probably our one millionth kiss".

The 26-year-old Cyrus shared another photo of her and Hemsworth kissing. Miley took to Instagram to confirm the date of their nuptials, simply captioning one of her posts: "12.23.18".

In one picture, the newlyweds are all dressed up in their wedding best - a floor-length white Vivienne Westwood gown for her and black tuxedo for him - as they shared a smooch.

The special day was attended by close family and friends with the couple deciding to hold the wedding in Franklin, Tennessee, where Miley was born FYI. Ever since, they have been rather lowkey about their relationship, but Hemsworth did take to Instagram a year ago to call Cyrus his "little angel". Her posts revealed that they tied the knot on December 23, nearly a decade after they first met on the set of the film "The Last Song". He captioned the photo: "My love", with a heart emoji. By October 2016, Cyrus announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show how she and Hemsworth were engaged again.

Further evidence is how singer Noah Cyrus, Miley's sister, also posted a clip of her sobbing via Instagram Stories after the speculated wedding took place. Tish Cyrus, the singer's mother, was pictured next to the pair during this moment.

In November, they lost their home in California in the state's disastrous wildfires.
