"On behalf of my family, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year".

This is the second Christmas the first family is celebrating at the White House, and this year's "American Treasures" theme celebrates and honors America's heritage. The Christmas Tree lighting will be in the evening on Wednesday, November 28. It includes replicas of the Capitol, the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, the Washington Monument and the White House, complete with tiny green wreaths with red ribbons on each window.

What do you think of this year's White House Christmas display? More than 500 feet of blue velvet ribbon weaves through the tree, embroidered with each State and territory in gold.

In the East Wing, a time-honored tradition returns to honor military families. Visitors are encouraged to write messages to soldiers overseas on special digital tablets near this tree.

More than 40 festive trees line the East Colonnade. Melania Trump's office explained that "72 handmade paper ornaments representing six regions across America hang from four 14-foot Noble fir trees".

While some of the decorations are par for the course - snowy white lights and well ornamented trees, the video also displays an alarming hallway full of BLOOD RED TREES. "It's a symbol of valor and bravery".

In addition to dozens of trees, several other special items are on display at the White House during the holiday season.

Four custom-made mantelpieces feature the skylines of New York, St. Louis, Chicago and San Francisco.

The Trump family Christmas card and ornament are in the East Garden Room, while the White House Historical Association's 2018 ornament honoring President Truman is in the library.

Melania also tweeted a few pictures of her walking through the White House and admiring the décor.
