The incidents have raised doubts about Musk's ability to steer Tesla into the future and fuelled investor nervousness.
A Tesla Spokesperson told Business Insider: "We occasionally adjust pricing and available options to best reflect the value of our products and to streamline our manufacturing operations".
Chief accounting officer Dave Morton resigned after just one month in the job because of discomfort with the attention on the company and pace of work during that time, Tesla said in a filing on Friday.
"While we expect investors will continue to question management turnover, particularly given intense scrutiny on the company, we do not think the turnover is indicative of problems with financial reporting at the company", they added.
The CEO, who wrote "funding has been secured", later indicated that Tesla would stay public, opening up a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigation, a lawsuit by short seller Andrew Left and numerous bearish reports doubting that details of a deal had ever been hashed out.
Despite rebounding 6% Monday, Tesla's share price has plunged 29% from the peak of 389.61 on the day Mr. Musk Tweeted the go-private plan.
But if you're willing to pay more you can still get them, Musk said in a tweet.
"She's been fantastic and I'm very grateful for everything she's done for Tesla", Musk said in a blog post.
It may no longer be up to Mr. Musk. Needham analyst Rajvindra Gill struck a extra cautious tone on Tesla, highlighting longer-time interval hurdles for the firm.
