The arrival of Daley Blind at Ajax could see De Jong leave

Blind will move to Ajax for a fee of £14.1m, which could rise to £18.5m, meaning Man United have recouped the majority of what they paid for him back in 2014 (around £15.5m).

The 28-year-old Holland worldwide swapped the Amsterdam giants for Old Trafford four years ago in a £14million deal. He was hired as a first team player and in his first season played a prominent role in most games from central midfield.

Personal terms won't be an issue for Ajax with Blind set to sign a four-year deal at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Former United goalkeeper and current Ajax chief executive officer Edwin van der Sar believes Blind is a good addition to the squad.

Daley Blind has spent four years at Manchester United and was signed when Louis Van Gaal was in charge of the club.

In 4 years in England, he has made 144 appearances, winning the EFL Cup, FA Cup, Community Shield and Europa League.

However, his gametime has been vastly reduced under the management of Jose Mourinho and he has eventually agreed to return to the Eredivisie after making just four league starts during the previous campaign.

I think Daley is a fantastic player.

"He's multi-functional, can be a left-back, centre-half and a defensive midfielder".

Blind could be a quality squad player for us next season and he would do a decent job as a left-back.
