Another change I notice is that the screen has been swapped out to a lower resolution model, from a 12.3-inch 2400x1600 pixel display in the 2017 Chromebook Plus, to a 12.2-inch 1920x1080 pixel display in the V2 device.
The standout feature of the Chromebook Plus - S-Pen functionality - is returning this year, allowing you to use the device to jot down notes, create sketches, sign documents, and even crop screenshots.
You're also getting a 12.2-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, Intel HD Graphics 615, and a 39Wh battery all crammed into a body that's 2.91 pounds.
New for 2018 is an Intel Celeron 3965Y, replacing the ARM processor Samsung previously used. Samsung today launched the successor to this device and while it doesn't bring any major design changes, it does come with upgraded internals which includes a more powerful processor.
On the imaging front, the laptop sports a 13MP rear camera sensor which comes with f/1.9 aperture and autofocus capabilities. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Samsung has pulled the wraps off its second-generation Chromebook Plus, now called the Chromebook Plus V2. The keyboard now comes with curved key caps and is created to be spill-resistant. "For those who choose Chrome OS, we wanted to give them a lot of reasons to choose the new Samsung Chromebook Plus, as it is designed especially for people who never stop moving, to match their pace and magnify their creativity". Samsung claims that the Chromebook Plus is capable of offering a battery backup of 8-hours on a single charge. The sides of the machine sport a USB 3.0 Type-A connector, an audio combo jack, a microSD card reader, and two USB-C ports that can also serve as 4K display outputs.
