Rusev Replaced by Chris Jericho to Face Undertaker at 'Greatest Royal Rumble'

In reality, while I love Rusev and The Undertaker and feel the two would put out a good match, it was kind of a random pairing.

A day after Rusev was scheduled to face The Undertaker in a casket match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, WWE announced Chris Jericho will replace the Bulgarian Brute and go on to face The Deadman.

The announcement comes hours after Rusev and Lana called out "The Phenom" during a TMZ interview.

And the first-ever WWE Undisputed Champion has even vowed that he will become the "King of the Casket Match" by triumphing at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

In storyline, WWE made the change because Lana, Rusev's real-life wife, talked to WWE officials and refused to let Rusev compete in a Casket Match.

So it appears, for now at least, that Rusev Day isn't going to be a thing of the past in the WWE anytime soon.

Rusev took to Twitter the day after the announcement of his match with Undertaker with a amusing, self-aware tweet about the likely outcome of the match. Originally, Chris Jericho was advertised for the 50-Man Royal Rumble Match but has since been removed from the list of confirmed participants.

What do you think of Rusev being swapped with Jericho?

"I'll beat him so bad it may be his last fight", he said.

The Greatest Royal Rumble has a new match because Rusev was switched out for Chris Jericho.

As noted earlier this week, Rey Mysterio is set to make his return to the ring for WWE at the April 27th Greatest Royal Rumble event from Saudi Arabia, according to PWInsider.
