Cavs coach returns: Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue attended Friday's game as an observer after leaving the team on March 19 to deal with medical concerns.

Sources told ESPN that Lue will not be coaching but rather easing back into his full-time coaching role.

Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue is ready to rejoin the team almost two weeks after leaving to address some medical issues, according to a report Friday from ESPN. "I know he's itching to get back".

And yet, Cleveland held on and is still in third place in the East - a half-game ahead of Philadelphia with six to play.

Drew has been serving as the interim coach during Lue's absence, and Cleveland has gone 6-1 during that span.

"Ty was Ty", said Drew, who reported Lue at a healthy salad. Love, whose front tooth was damaged when he was inadvertently struck in the face, participated in the team's morning shootaround and the team upgraded him to "questionable".

Jrue Holiday led the Pelicans (43-33) with 25 points and Nikola Mirotic, who was shooting 29 percent from the field in his previous 10 games, had 20 points and seven rebounds. Still, the Pelicans made one final push, missing an opportunity to tie the game in the final minute, with one free throw each from Jordan Clarkson and J.R. Smith providing the final cushion.

Swingman Kyle Korver, who had been away from the team for five games due to the sudden death of 27-year-old brother Kirk, is back with the Cavs but sat out the Pelicans game due to right foot soreness.

Cleveland point guard Jose Calderon entered Friday with 899 career 3-pointers.

LeBron James led the Cavs in scoring on Friday night. Like his record-tying bucket Wednesday in Charlotte, James set the new record on a dunk.
