Lawrence told interviewer Bill Whitaker that she knew she wanted to pursue acting after struggling in school.

Lawrence revealed that she "dropped out of middle school".

Lawrence admits she never received a diploma or a GED, but she says the time she spent forging her acting career was well worth it. She began modeling and when she started to read scripts and relate to the characters in them, something clicked.

Posing alongside her four male co-stars, the 27-year-old actress wore a plunging black Versace dress - something the internet seemed to have a lot of opinions about. "And if I want to be cold THATS MY CHOICE TOO!"

Jennifer Lawrence embraces unconventional roles, and she feels the same way about education, dropping out of school at the tender age of 14. Excessive reaction to all of what someone says or does, fueling disputes over silly and innocuous things like what I choose to wear or not wear, does not allow us to move forward.

Talk about determination. The actress added, "Even friends, for many years, were not as important to me as my career".

At 14, it might sound insane to listen to a child who is asking to drop out of school, but Lawrence's parents gave her the benefit of the doubt, and it paid off.

"I struggled through school", she tells US news show 60 Minutes.

In 2014, Lawrence was the victim of a photo hack that led to nude photos of her being leaked online.

Director Francis Lawrence immediately knew Jennifer Lawrence was the one to play Russian spy Dominika in their new movie Red Sparrow.

According to a report from People magazine, the Louisville native made the comments during a soon-to-be-aired 60 Minutes interview. I am self-educated. I wanted to forge my own path.

Red Sparrow, which also stars Jeremy Irons, Charlotte Rampling and Matthias Schoenarts, hits cinemas from 1 March (18).
