The media, in fact, gave glowing press coverage to Kim Yo Jong, the sister of dictator Kim Jon Un and the regime's deputy director of the Propaganda and Agitation Department. And Kim Yo-jong's appearances at the Olympics are created to make everyone forget about Mr. Ji's courageous story and those of many others.

Following the postponement decision, North Korea agreed to hold the first official talks with South Korea over the past two years.

"The North Koreans used the Winter Olympic Games to try to shape an image of a country which is not isolated from the worldwide community".

The United States has previously indicated Washington is open to direct talks, but Tillerson stressed earlier this month that the ball was now in Pyongyang's camp.

"We see athletes and cheerleaders and people doing taekwondo, and we think these are normal people".

She is considered to be a "gatekeeper" to her brother Kim Jong Un. Reuters said North Korea had "won the gold" for "diplomacy".

Abe's aides told reporters that, during that short meeting, he raised the issues of missile tests and abducted Japanese citizens.

"My job as chief diplomat is to ensure that the North Koreans know, we keep our channels open, I'm listening", he concluded.

There is a battle taking place at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and it is not about sports. "Its intention regarding nuclear and missile development has not changed", he warned.

North Korea may be able to co-host the 2021 Asian Winter Games with South Korea and make the North's Masikryong ski resort available for the Games, a North Korean official said on Tuesday according to the South's Yonhap news agency.

There remains grave concern within Japan about North Korea's weapons program. Washington defends these conventional drills as legal under worldwide law and needed to maintain military readiness.

"Both the South and the North should be ashamed of the current situation where no reunions of separated families are allowed", said Cho.

And in a familiar warning, Kim warned the U.S. of the "catastrophic consequences" of a war with the North.

"I expect the relations between South and North Korea to improve in the future".

"There is no daylight between the United States, the Republic of Korea, and Japan".

"The DPRK is fully ready for both dialogue and war", the commentary said, using the acronym for the North's formal name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. I don't think this really contests as to their "hacking" army but rather than just, laborers doing illegal things on the internet.

I understand it is the Olympics and it is a time for unification in a sense, but you can not just whitewash history and the continued brutality of this ruthless regime to try to make it seem as if all is well and fine in the DPRK. And a common variable between them all is that they are usually centered overseas from North Korea, where internet access is actually decent (what a surprise) and keeping one's self anonymous, is a lot easier.

The general consensus on the need for dialogue between the USA and North Korea is gradually increasing.

"It's hard to remember the relationship between South Korea and the United States has been so unbalanced, on the surface at least".

John Nilsson-Wright from Chatham House says Vice President Pence looked "flat-footed" in terms of global diplomacy.
