Palace releases adorable photos of Charlotte's first day at preschool

Kensington Palace has released two new photos of Princess Charlotte on her first day of school at Willcocks Nursery.

According to the palace, the pictures were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge just before Charlotte left for school.

A keen photographer, Catherine photographed the adorable little girl before she headed off to school, dressed in a burgundy coat, shoes and matching hair ribbon, and warm grey tights.

She looks proud as punch.

With all the Prince Harry-Meghan Markle hubbub lately, it's been possible to forget (not completely, but to a certain extent!) about our pals Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Kensington Palace announced that Charlotte would be attending the nursery in late 2017 with the tweet: 'Their Royal Highnesses have also announced this morning that Princess Charlotte will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London from January 2018'.

It has an all-female staff and is run by Lavinia Taylor, who has been headmistress since September 2009. Can you believe how big she's gotten?

Princess Charlotte, two, joined classes at the Willcocks Nursery School in London on January 8. "As a result, no time is wasted and children enjoy a productive learning experience". He attended a private boys boarding school an hour outside of London in his younger years before being sent to Eton - the prestigious private school known for spurting out future politicians and royals.

Kensington Palace shared two pictures of the two-year-old taken at her home ahead of the big day.

It feels like it was only yesterday that we were welcoming little Charlotte into the world.
