Florida Teen Captured at NY-Canada Border After Discovery of Grandmother's Remains

Hours after the body that is believed to be a 53-year-old grandmother was found in a shallow grave in a Neptune Beach backyard near Jacksonville, police have detained the suspect.

"The burial site was excavated today and human remains were located".

A Florida teenager whom police want to question in connection with the suspected death of his grandmother was detained Friday by United States agents near the border with Canada, officials said.

Ron Lendvay, a director of investigations and homeland security for the sheriff's office, said surveillance footage from a gas station in south-central Pennsylvania picked up the image of the teen and Dodge Dart on Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE, Friday, 5:50 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released a new flier with missing 15-year-old Logan Mott's image, calling him "armed and risky". Carrie Campbell-Mott, said Logan has had some has had trouble adjusting in recent months after transferring away from Middle School and entering High School.

On Tuesday, a Florida Missing Child Alert was issued for Mott, a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 120 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes, reported Fox 13 News.

A 15-year-old Jacksonville boy who was last seen Monday is no longer labeled a missing person.

When the father got to his home in Neptune Beach, near Jacksonville on Florida's Atlantic coast, he found it had been ransacked. "Logan is our child and we love him and are standing by him to help in any way. We want to find out what happened to Kristina and we need time for that to happen". If spotted, the sheriff's office urges the public to call 911.

Campbell-Mott said she last spoke to Logan on Sunday and that he seemed to be in a good mood.

"Logan has so many friends and family that are desperate to hear from him", she said.

Told the mother, 'There just wasn't any indication that there was anything wrong, nothing. Then, at about 11:10 p.m. tonight, we received confirmation that the fugitive teen was discovered in possession of his grandmother's vehicle as he tried to enter Canada from the Buffalo, New York area.
