One of the bullets penetrated the tank, but did not cause a fire or explosion near the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, another knowledgeable source said late Wednesday.

Paddock rained bullets down on festivalgoers from a nearby hotel building, killing 58 and injuring hundreds more.

A spokeswoman for the Blackstone Hotel in a statement did not address whether Paddock reserved a room but said he never checked in.

Stephen Paddock is the man responsible for America's worst ever mass shooting.

Paddock, 64, booked one room at the Blackstone Hotel starting August 1, two days before the festival opened.

Mr Lombardo said he found it hard to believe that the arsenal of weapons, ammunition and explosives recovered by police in their investigation could have been assembled by Paddock completely on his own.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump traveled to Las Vegas to meet with law enforcement officers and survivors of the shooting outside the Mandalay Bay hotel casino.

Investigators trying to determine what triggered the massacre say Paddock's plans were meticulous.

He said at the time that they had information that Paddock may have attended Life is handsome. Her lawyer, Matt Lombard, said his client was co-operating fully with authorities. Authorities continue to investigate.

Danley, who was overseas for more than two weeks, said she was initially pleased when she was wired money from Paddock to buy a house for her family in the Philippines. While other mass killers have left a trail of plain-sight clues that helped investigators quickly understand what drove them to violence, Paddock led a low-key, private life. "We're the city of big shoulders, we put on big events.and people enjoy them.this is where Chicago can shine and is capable", said Emanuel. But she later feared it was a way to break up with her.
