LSU paid Troy almost $1 million to come and beat them

The men of Troy took it to the mighty LSU Tigers Saturday night in Baton Rouge, beating them 24-21.

For Troy, it was perhaps the biggest win in school history as a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) school. The Trojans are 2-20 all-time against ranked teams.

It is to be expected, after a humiliating defeat at home to Troy on Saturday night, that whatever foobaw dreams LSU had for the Ed Orgeron era have been ... reduced. Josh Anderson got the payoff with a 7-yard run.

Troy's 10-0 lead was the first time LSU had been shut out at the half since November 5 of a year ago. The Trojans were now trying to fight off Deja vu from 2008 and 2004 when the Trojans had fourth quarter leads in both games but let them slip away. Moreau's two-touchdown game was his first career multi-score outing at LSU. He was sacked five times and intercepted once. Making just his fifth start, the junior ran for 94 yards, hit Tavien Feaster with a pass the speedy running back took 60 yards for a score and avoided mistakes.

The crowd during the fourth quarter at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., during Georgia's 41-0 win over Tennessee.

The Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 SEC) dominated the game in every way possible, churning up 380 yards of offense while holding Tennessee to just 142 and forcing four turnovers (two interceptions and two fumble recoveries). They are 2-0 in conference play. As much as one would imagine coach Les wishes only the best for his former players, the "I told you so" mindset might just be creeping up in the back of his mind.

Troy 17, LSU 7 (4:00): Brennan connects with Foster Moreau for a 7-yard touchdown pass to finally put the Tigers on the board.

Danny Etling replaced Brennan after the interception and threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Russell Gage.

LSU totaled 93 yards in the first quarter, only 10 yards passing, and 158 yards in the half - 97 of which were yards rushing.

Guice - who seemed to suffer a left leg/knee injury late in LSU's 37-7 loss to Mississippi State on September 16 and a subsequent right ankle injury last week versus Syracuse, Orgeron said - was absent from Saturday's game.

LOUISVILLE - Quarterback Lamar Jackson passed for 237 yards and three touchdowns, also running for 100 yards, in one half as Louisville crushed in-state FCS foe Murray State. This was the start of a three-game home stretch for the Gators, who have LSU and Texas A&M in the next two weeks.

GREENVILLE, N.C. - South Florida, behind versatile senior quarterback Quinton Flowers and an aggressive defense, turned in a dominant second-half performance.

LSU's first play was a 27-yard completion between Danny Etling and D.J. Chark.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Luke Del Rio regained the starting quarterback job this week, but his season is now over after he broke his left collarbone. Troy (3-1) is coming off a 22-17 win over Akron.

Gators coach Jim McElwain said Del Rio will undergo season-ending surgery on Monday. LSU (3-2) starts and rotates in about six true freshmen or redshirt freshmen. McSorley added a rushing touchdown, and Nick Scott scored on a fumble return.

The biggest concern for Notre Dame (4-1) by game's end was injury.

"He's an National Football League running back", Brown said. He completed 7 of 11 passes for 61 yards, with only two completions to wideouts.
