Rooney charged with drunk-driving

Wayne Rooney is aiming to lead from the front at Everton - by convincing the latest crop of young talent at Goodison Park they are as good as he was as a teenager.

"She was polite. She asked whether my vehicle was parked outside the nightclub".

The former England captain, held by police last Thursday on suspicion of drink-driving, is said to have held crisis talks with his "furious" wife at their £6million home in Prestbury, Cheshire, at the weekend.

"She did say both of us were at fault for getting in the taxi and that we shouldn't have done that".

She told the SUN "I didn't know what to make of it, it all happened so fast". Was I going to spend the night with him?

Coleen, who is pregnant with the couple's fourth child, has not commented on the stage of her marriage, but recently tweeted that she was being hounded by paparazzi while travelling with her boys.

'He kept admiring my clingy top and asking what size they were, saying "Are they real?' We had a kiss, a hug and some banter, harmless fun".

The 29-year-old said the pair wanted to get away from "prying eyes" after sparks started flying at the Symposium Bar, which the pair visited after Bubble Room.

She told the Daily Mail: "I'm a single girl and I'm allowed to have some fun".

The Everton star whose pregnant wife Coleen was on holiday 1,300 miles away in Majorca, was arrested on Thursday night while he was driving one Laura Simpson in her auto after they enjoyed a whirlwind night boozing at a bar. I'm not a marriage wrecker.' said Simpson.

"Wayne Rooney, aged 31, has since been charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit", it continued.

Rooney, who was released on bail, is set to appear before a court in Stockport on September 18, according to the police.

He returned to boyhood club Everton this summer and has scored twice in the Toffees' first three Premier League fixtures.
