LG V30 Launched With FullVision Display, Dual Cameras and Snapdragon 835

The South Korean phone maker has set the release date for Thursday September 21st in South Korea. The 64GB version will be available in Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet.

Despite the change in display size from 5.7 inches on the LG V20 to 6 inches on the V30, the latter is still 8mm shorter and 3mm narrower than the former.

Pricing has not yet been confirmed, though it is rumoured to come in at around $699 - likely £699 in the UK.

Like the G6 before it, the LG V30 features two rear cameras, but these have been upped to two 16MP sensors, from the two 13MP sensors in the G6 (for an even wider angle when taking snaps).

At first glance, you will probably want to buy this smartphone instantly. There's also a non-removable 3300mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, and USB-C connectivity.

Even if the dimensions of LG V30 (151.7 x 75.4 x 7.6mm) are larger than dimensions of LG G6 (148.9 x 71.9 x 7.9mm), LG V30 is thinner and weighs less with 158g of weight. The camera has the potential to be one of the best we've seen on a phone so far, and with the wonderful sound output too this is certainly the media fiend's phone.

The unit has lost the main features of the LG V - auxiliary display. It can be dragged offscreen when not required. The device features a trendy bezel-less following the footsteps of the LG G6. The V30 also offers wireless charging.

Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile said, "The V series has always been demonstrating new practical mobile technologies that contribute to high quality content creation and the V30 has not lost sight of its roots, with its F1.6 Crystal Clear Lens Camera and Cine Video mode, the LG V30 is designed to help create professional-looking content without professional-level complexity". There is a 16-megapixel normal lens on the rear with a 70-degree field of view and optical image stabilization (OIS). Point Zoom, however, "allows users to zoom in on any subject smoothly using the zoom slider, regardless of its position in the frame". And then there's the Floating Bar, a semi-transparent strip that appears on your home screen and can be customized with five apps for quick and easy access. LG Cine Log can preserve the wide dynamic range and color gamut of your video files for more accurate image details, and on the photo side, there's a Manual Mode that includes settings like white balance and shutter speed. Up front, the smartphone comes with a 5MP selfie camera with a 90-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture. LG V30 is also well equipped on the audio front and offers 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC with voice recognition. It has Quad DAC on board, as well as an MQA player. And in comparison to its predecessor, we wholeheartedly prefer the V30's new look, and find it to be more attractive this time around. Inside, powerful Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory, powers the smartphone. It comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection in the front and rear. To deal with heat the V30 has a heat pipe and cooling pad.

The LG V30 continues to feature a 3.5mm headphone slot and the sound experience is enriched with Bang & Olufsen audio system. It also carries a design that flaunts smooth curves on all sides of the handset.
