Mark Wahlberg displaces The Rock as world's highest-paid actor

Earlier this month, Emma Stone became the world's highest-paid female actor, according to Forbes, earning $26 million annually. You have to reach the 15th place to find the first woman, the one who has dethroned Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone.

Wahlberg, 46, who is worth $225 million, can also point to his roles in films Transformers: The Last Knight and forthcoming comedy sequel Daddy's Home 2 for his blockbuster payday.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had been Hollywood's highest paid actor for a while now. That's a huge gap between what the men made and what the women made during the scoring period of June 2016 to June 2017.

Later this year, Wahlberg will be seen in Ridley Scott's "All the Money in the World" alongside Kevin Spacey and Michelle Williams.

Numerous men on the list were actors in Marvel's "The Avengers" movie franchise, including Robert Downey Jr., sixth with $48 million, Chris Hemsworth, 11th with $31.5 million, and Ryan Reynolds, 18th with $21.5 million.

It's worth pointing out that the lists are put together with all earnings considered, not just those made from actual acting jobs. The Oscar victor tops the list with an estimated $26 million. His Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel managed to pull off third place spot on the list with $54.5 million.

Last December, Depp was named as the most overpaid actor for the second year running, as films such as Mortdecai and Alice Through The Looking Glass bombed at the box office. Actors who appear in superhero and action movies make more than actors or actresses make in other movies.
