NEXT WEEKEND: We'll have a sunny and dry Saturday and Sunday with seasonal highs in the mid 80s. They will be brief, mainly offer up rain and a few lightning strikes, but one or two rogue cells may also have a little bit of gusty wind. The chance for flooding is still minor, but we're taking into consideration that many waterways are at or close to their peaks. Doesn't get much better than that for July!
Have a great weekend!
Look for highs to top out in the upper 80s and west winds around 5-10 miles per hour.
Isolated to scattered showers and storms develop both today and Sunday. As far as next week is concerned, not big time heat is in the forecast but it looks to turn unsettled towards the second half of the week with some scattered showers.
Highs Tuesday will jump into the mid and upper 90s across central Virginia. The heat index will surpass 100° in some locations
Showers and storms were active early this morning and we may have a few storm cells prompting Storm Warnings for risky winds and lightning later this afternoon.
Our skies will stay become clear Thursday night and temperatures will drop to the low 70's.
An area pf low pressure associated with the morning front will move by during the afternoon, maintaining clouds and showers into the afternoon. Highs in the mid to upper 70s. So, we stay very humid for the rest of next week. Drier air will come Saturday and offer partly sunny skies, comfortable humidity levels and highs in the low and mid-80s.
