Funeral service plans for rock star Gregg Allman has been set.
Michael Lehman managed Gregg Allman's career from 2004 until the singer's death on Saturday from complications related to liver cancer and said Allman was involved in new music until the end.
The iconic musician, best known for co-founding The Allman Brothers Band with his brother, Duane Allman, died last Saturday at his home in Savannah, Georgia. Through many personnel changes, The Allman Brothers Band put out many albums and performed thousand of concerts.
"He and [producer] Don Was sent it to me to sing on, and I did", Browne said.
Devon Allman left Royal Southern Brotherhood in 2014, but not before the group (which also featured Mike Zito, Yonrico Scott and Charlie Wooton) created a 2012 self-titled debut that went to No. 5 on the Billboard blues chart. Gregg was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1999 and had a liver transplant in 2010.
Cher and Allman got married in 1975, just three days after the former's divorce from Sonny Bono.
Gregg Allman, who died last week at age 69, was a primary voice and face of that movement, and he helped carry the Allmans' music to the masses through songs including "Whipping Post", "Midnight Rider", and "Melissa". Allman was known for his loyalty to his players and Burnett's recording suggestion was almost a deal breaker.

Allman's legacy in Buffalo does involve stints at a local rehab, as well as the Allman Brothers Band's ill-fated 1970 appearance at Aliotta's Lounge, which concluded with band manager Twiggs Lyndon stabbing and killing owner Angelo Aliotta during a dispute over payment.
