Wisconsin is headed to the Sweet 16 and Villanova isn't.
When the Badgers face Villanova Saturday afternoon, it will be a pick your poison for that Badgers defense.
Villanova can take Wisconsin out of its comfort zone, much in the same way MI used its offensive style to deluge the Badgers in the Big Ten Tournament championship game.
But hey, even though Villanova wasn't able to win back-to-back titles, no one can take last year's away.
The Wildcats likely can't afford another slow start against aBadgers team that topped Virginia Tech on Thursday behind Bronson Koenig and Nigel Hayes, two seniors with a pair of Final Fours on their resume.
Before long, the Wildcats were having their way, and except for DiVincenzo missing two breakaway dunks, Villanova showed why many believe they can win it all again. To go along with Koenig, Iverson was the cog that keyed Wisconsin in the first half.
"I think my four years have given me a lot of insights into the college game", stated Hart.
Xavier guard Trevon Bluiett scored 21 of his game-high 24 points in the second half. The Badgers can make three-point shots, take care of the ball, and their calling card is still a clingy defense.
Wisconsin is much more than just the little guard who grew into a very big guard. Villanova is trying to be the first back-to-back titlist since Florida in 2007.
Hayes' reverse layup with 11.4 seconds remaining gave Wisconsin the lead for good vs.
"Jalen is just a sophomore but Coach (Wright) calls him an 'old soul.' When we have him out there with Darryl, Kris, me, Mikal, we have guys who have played in a lot of big games". Happ leads in rebounds with 9.1 and in assists with 2.8 per game.
His three-game shooting totals - 53.1 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range, 80 percent from the free throw line - were in stark contrast to an up-and-down offensive season that saw him score three points against Chicago State, 28 against Oklahoma and just about everywhere in between. "I know it may sound extreme, but I'd rather go out there in the game and give everything I have".
"They just know who they are", Moore said. We've got the way for you to catch the number one seed try to defend their national championship title via live stream. "That's probably what we have to be to be a success. We're going to have to deal with this'". The Wildcats' only "big" who played off the bench was Eric Paschall, who stands 6-7 himself.
Few said they looked better in person than they did on film - and after a grinder of a win, he's certainly more familiar with Daum and the Jackrabbits than members of the NCAA selection committee whose job it was to seed them. It helps get the George Masons and VCUs of the world to the Final Four; eventually it figures to play into a 16 finally knocking off a 1.
