South Carolina's Coates to miss NCAA Tournament with injury

This year's field has multiple championship caliber teams, but one team stands out from the rest: The University of North Carolina. Cooper is going for the reverse jinx in the regional finals.

The Heels can go 10 or 11 deep at any given time, so you don't have to worry about them getting exhausted or wearing down throughout the tournament.

Sticking with the one seeds, North Carolina was the favorite to be the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament before losing to Duke in the ACC Tournament.

While boasting many similarities to last year's squad-mainly the names and faces-this group of Tar Heels has established its own identity over the past few months. However, his 3-point shot has gone by the wayside as of late. Everyone seems to be asking, "Who is the hottest team entering the NCAA tournament?". Villanova was even better during the regular season this year than it was on the road to last year's championship trophy.

The 2017 NCAA Tournament is officially underway! It will be a rock fight for Kentucky to get out of Indianapolis. She is the program's first four-time All-SEC selection, capturing first-team honors as a junior and senior after taking second-team recognition in her first two seasons.

In the past 25 years, just one team has won the tournament in back-to-back seasons: Florida in 2006 and '07.

PREDICTION: It's going to be tough for Northwestern to shake off all of the extra media attention, focus and get ready to play in the biggest game in their school's history. The starting point guard is the catalyst for this team's championship contention this year. I don't expect her to have to score 35 or 40 points.

Obviously Kentucky's freshman class could be here.

Seedings: No. 7 SC vs. But perhaps no player has made a bigger leap in the eyes of the National Basketball Association this season than the Demon Deacons' Collins. The atmosphere should be strong for a late-night tip, and if not, fiery SC coach Frank Martin will ensure the intensity is up to par.

If you're a Duke fan, $260 to watch your team eat Troy's lunch might be worth it.

"We could really get the ball inside with Brice [last year]", Berry said Tuesday during the team's press conference. But consider the talent on the sideline for a minute.

Head coach Roy Williams earned himself a spot in the Hall-of-Fame using an up-tempo system that relies on two traditional big men in the post. Dayton defends well while Wichita State does a little bit of everything well. Winthrop's Pat Kelsey and Middle Tennessee's Kermit Davis are both speculated as candidates for bigger jobs. Bryce Drew, who like his father coached Valpo to multiple NCAA appearances, is also known for his buzzer-beating 3-pointer as the Crusaders upset fourth-seeded Ole Miss in their 1998 NCAA opener on way to the Sweet 16. Grayson Allen is Grayson Allen, and as much as you might hate him, he has a flare for the dramatic. The Gamecocks aren't on the level of some of the other No. 7 seeds, and they probably aren't as good as either Wisconsin or Virginia Tech, the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds in the East. Look for Carolina blue to be the right hue from the blue blood region.
