The Android 7.1 Nougat is said to roll out on the latest Google Pixel phones. Again, we should have mentioned here that Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones have just launched with respect to the Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
There are three ways to get the update to Android 7.1 developer preview at this time. Nevertheless, we expect it to be available for anyone in the near future like the Google Now launcher. Among the Google lineups, only the Pixel and Pixel XL flagships are "phones built for virtual reality".
The rollout of the app gives us an indication that Google might consider releasing the Pixel launcher for other devices as well.
As Google promised a week ago, the company has released the first Developer Preview of Android 7.1 Nougat.
Google Assistant, the new digital helper from Google, is simply incredible. There's no word on when the carrier will get new shipments of the Pixel XL 128GB model.
The app can be used on nearly any Android device. The Google Pixel XL will also have a fingerprint scanner in the back glass portion.
The Android 7.1 Nougat developer preview brings some notable improvements like support for Daydream View VR headset and image keyboard. The beta updates are somewhat buggy but that also pushes you to the front of the line in getting the final Android update. You can see the color difference and the amount of extra detail that the Google Pixel XL is able to capture as compared to the competition. Users can also select a favorite category and then get a randomly selected image for their wallpaper each day.
